Quiet Day

Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Some rain overnight & a bit damp this morning. Decided to stay put in Port Augusta today instead of moving to Wilmington only 44 km away. The main reason for going there was to go to a lookout but weather not really suitable, although it has not actually rained again today, yet! The clouds are building up again now.

We will leave here tomorrow morning, rain or shine, to go to 'Rawnsley Park' caravan park just outside Wilpena Pound. Looks like we will have wet conditions Thursday & Friday but clearing on Saturday.
So today has been a quiet reading, computering, playing anagrams, trip into town for lunch type day! Also did the washing, expecting to have to use the dryer, but managed to dry on line in wind even though cloudy.

My big concern now is whether my favourite cotton travel trousers are going to last another 2 1/2 weeks! They are probably about 10 yrs old & have been to Kakadu, Central Australia, The Kimberly, Namibia & many other places, but they are really wearing out! Fraying at hems & above zips, worn on all the folds & then yesterday the left leg tore at the knee! I bought some iron-on patch fabric & have put some on both knees so they might make it home! I think I will have to turn them into a 'travelling pants quilt' ..... interesting idea!
Sorry no pictures today! Off to bed now. Talk to you again soon.
