Much better than yesterday, but still overcast & another shower this morning. Quite a lot of the roads in Wilpena Pound NP still closed today so we were unable to see some areas. We were able to drive north to Blinman on sealed road. Had lunch at the Blinman Pub - both had the local saltbush lamb burger. Nice, but quite strong tasting. The lambs feed on the saltbush which is rich in minerals. We definitely won't need much for dinner!
From Blinman we were able to drive
east west [I do have a problem with my east & west!] on unsealed road across to Parachilna Gorge. Water over the road at several creeks but not enough to cause any problems for the Landcruiser. The countryside was absolutely magnificent & we took lots of photos [I know that will surprise you!] but we really needed a bit more sunlight to bring out the colours in the rocks & cliff faces. Oh well, at least it was not raining! Instead of being able to do a circuit trip we had to return via the same roads due to other road closures.

On the way back spotted 'daddy' emu with 10 chicks, thought he was going to walk on me for a moment, he came so close! Stopped at a lookout where we took in the extensive panorama of the surrounding countryside. Saw a couple of cute red-necked wallabies here, too.

Back at Rawnsely Park we took a few more late afternoon photos with nice light on Rawnsley Bluff, just near the caravan park.

Sorry I am taking so long to get this blog up to date, it is just so hard to choose only a few photos!!
